波の無い大阪に生まれたサーファーのウエイブハント魂を受け継いでいるかのように、休日は和歌山、四国、鳥取、そして宮崎まで。時には千葉まで。翔太が頭に描くサーフィンの行き先は大きなスケールです。中学、高校、大学と、学業とサーフィンを両立させて、その才知を生かせる先にも就職。いつも元気で明るく、人に優しい彼のまわりには世代を超えてたくさんの友達がいます。千葉公平とはふたりでオーストラリアトリップへも行きました。FFFFに乗るデレック・ハインドと貴重な時間を過ごした、数少ない日本人ヤングゼネレーションでもあります。

Shota inherits the wave hunting spirit of the surfers born in the waveless city of Osaka. On holidays, he makes the journey to Wakayama, Shikoku, Tottori, even as far as Miyazaki and sometimes to Chiba — his selections in destinations are on a wide scale. He has been surfing throughout his academic career which allowed him to acquire work in the surfing industry. He is always cheerful and bright, friendly to everyone around him; he has created many friendships with people of different generations. He has traveled with Kohei Chiba to Australia and spent valuable time with FFFF rider, Derek Hind — being one of the few young Japanese surfers to experience this.
