Every board created for the JJ series is one that’s born through a collaborative effort by master shaper Kohei Chiba that has been cultivated for many years through a lot of communication between Kohei and Jun Jo. For the JJ4 is a big example of how long these projects take to make it just perfect.
The idea of making a twin fin has been in the works for nearly 8 years now. Going back and forth of outline , flow all the way to fin design they finally created something that they loved riding , something that made surfing super enjoyable at all times.
This board was created with the idea of having a board that both flows freely through long sections , holds through very wide turns but still has the capability of turning sharply verticaly which a lot of twin fins have difficulty doing.
It all starts with the outline. Having the board with a more modern nose than the usual twin fin, the wing which breaks the water flow when you want to and the very tiny but incredibly important tiny 3rd fin that helps when the water flow breaks to help you turn sharp and vertically when you need to on a wave.
This board is one of that has the capability to have a fun in all types of surf . It’s a board that when you see it you appreciate the years of knowledge and experience it took to create this master piece.
